2010 REUNION NEWSLETTER FEBRUARY 22, 2010

Dear shipmates,

We had a wonderful time this year in Newport Rhode Island and I would like to thank everyone who worked so hard to put the event together. Additional thanks go to Richard and Edie Frank who served our club so well. Richard has agreed to continue service as club historian.

It is an honor and a privilege to serve you over this upcoming year as president of the USS Caloosahatchee Reunion Association. We have some exciting times coming up this year at Atlantic Beach and Morehead City in North Carolina.

This year's theme is not only "Reunion for the Crew" but "Vacation for All." Bring the entire family!

The event will be held October 7-10, 2010. We will arrange lodging at local motels at Atlantic Beach (North Carolina). There is a beautiful sandy beach that will present a perfect setting for romantic and picturesque walks that I think everyone will enjoy.

There is also going to be an assortment of optional events that you may wish to attend such as:

• Trip to Fort Macon Coast Guard Station and a tour of the facility.
• Trip to Beaufort for shopping and a tour of the old homes some of which date back to 1700's.
• Lunch on the Mystery cruise boat and a guided tour around Beaufort Inlet.
• Visit to the Maritime Museum for a look at hand crafted wooden boats.
• Visit Blackbeard's treasures from the remains of the Queen Ann's Revenge.

And last but not least, a Down East cookout with some of the locals in the area.

I think this year's event will be spectacular and I would like for everyone to start planning now and don't forget to call a shipmate to get more participation.

It is going to be a reunion to remember!
